Though I grew up among Chinese in Los Angeles and San Francisco in the 50s and 60s in addition to fun stories and great characters, I've leaned new things about Chinese American culture as a side bar. Have already pre ordered the 6th title in the series.

This is one of those series for which I eagerly purchase each book as it becomes available. The characters are very relatable, the story is engaging, and I love the glimpse into a culture that is different from mine. I stayed up late, got up early, and ignored all the things I was supposed to be doing to inhale this book. I can't wait to read what adventures Raina finds next!

In the previous book we met Sonny of the Triad in conjunction to Raina's grandfather's secrets. This book ties Raina's family with a debt owed to them by the Triad. Sonny has Raina's grandfather's journal and will not return it unless she helps him. So off to Canada, she goes and another murder to solve. Matthew shows up and things get interesting but not as interesting as all the things that Po Po does. Enjoy this excellent book as I did and am looking forward to the next book!

I just love how Rainy and Po Po gets into these situations and come out without gore or graphic violence. Makes for an entertaining weekend escape.
