I like this book & I actually like Karin Slaughter. It was a crazy read, in a good way. But I think I need help trying to find if there are books that follow this? How do you know if there are following books?
  • Kept me guessing the whole time

I had conflicted feelings on this book; for the strength of the plot twists alone, it is worth a read and I genuinely did not expect the ending. However, it is pretty gruesomely violent and upsetting at parts. My other critique is that the main characters’ emotions, particularly Sam and Charlie, seems a bit contrived and I can’t imagine real people would act or feel that way after their past. I enjoyed Rusty’s character and the legal side of the book the most; some of the family dynamics were a bit long.

From the get-go, this story is absolute madness and intensity. I enjoyed the never ending twists and turns. I’ve got to say this author knows how to write a thriller. Also, there are many spiritual offerings. I highly enjoyed this novel. Do it!

It was a good book, but I kept going back and forth so it just confused me a bit. Other than that it was an excellent read!

The good daughter by Karin Slaughter is about revenge and forgiveness and terrible secrets hidden for years. One night, two armed Men show up at the old farmhouse where a mother (Gamma) and two daughters (Sam abd Charlie) prepare for dinner. The horror that ensues is tragic. Years afterward the family is still splintered, their healing is up and down, so many things unsaid and unknown about that night keeps pulling them down. I don’t want to give anything away because there are two mysteries in this book and multiple turns that I don’t want to reveal. This book isn’t Slaughters normal book and style, but it’s a fulfilling read. Her writing, always good, holds up here too. Most of the characters are troubled, but some work harder to heal. I ended up thinking, what would I be able to forgive, or would I end up sinking down to the depths of revenge? The setting is a small, southern town in Georgia, where the Ol’ Boy’s Network is alive and flourishing, at least for the time being. I recommend this book if you are a slaughter fan and like a combination of an action and character driven story.
