Austin is a fun romance about shifting your expectations and rolling with the punches when you grow up and things don't work out as you planned. Austin, is of course, our hero and Kristen (a girl he grew up with) is our heroine. Life isn't working out for Kristen but luckily Austin steps in to help her out. I enjoyed their journey back home and their path to each other. Kristen seemed a little bit snippy at times but I understood where her frustration was coming from and I never found her annoying (always a plus in my eyes). I liked Austin all the way through the book. He was just a good guy and a genuine friend to Kristen when she needed one most. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

While I'm loving this series, Austin was a bit harder for me to connect to at first. Kristen, our hero suffers with social anxiety. She closes up and is often times taken as being cold. The reactions of Austin to this was not something I agreed with. He in fact came of a bit childish in the beginning. Once these two started spending time with each other he actually became more protective of her feelings and tried to help her overcome some of her issues. This was more of a slow burn, second chance romance that I would consider a mid to high angst level. No cheating, abuse or other women/men drama. ARC provided by NetGalley.
