Description

“One of the best thrillers I have read this year.”
--Books and Movie Reviews (re Any Means Necessary)

In PRIMARY THREAT (The Forging of Luke Stone—Book #3), a ground-breaking action thriller by #1 bestseller Jack Mars, elite Delta Force veteran Luke Stone, 29, leads the FBI’s Special Response Team as they respond to a hostage situation on an oil rig in the remote Arctic.

Yet what at first seems like a simple terrorist event may, it turns out, be much more.

With a Russian master plan unfolding rapidly in the Arctic, Luke may have arrived at the precipice of the next world war.

And Luke Stone may just be the only man standing in its way.

PRIMARY THREAT is a standalone, un-putdownable military thriller, a wild action ride that will leave you turning pages late into the night. The precursor to the #1 bestselling LUKE STONE THRILLER SERIES, this series takes us back to how it all began, a riveting series by bestseller Jack Mars, dubbed “one of the best thriller authors” out there.

Books #4-#6 are also available!

“Thriller writing at its best.”

Only perhaps half a dozen grammar, misspellings in the entire book, but other than that a Great story line 👍

While I typically enjoy the Luke stone books though they all follow the same basic flow, this one was hard to swallow. The team has less than 8 hours to fly from Cyprus to Syria, infiltrate a mosque, fly back to Cyprus, hash a plan, then fly to the Arctic Circle infiltrate a heavily guarded base and stop a nuclear bomb. Seriously. Let’s at least have a reasonable time frame for all of this to happen.

Another great book. It kept me flipping through the pages and finished it in one sitting.

Thus is a great read and a good continuation of the story. However I found at least 2 typos in the book which is frustrating.

I received an advance copy for an “honest review”. Well, I pretty much trashed the opening “forging of LS”-books, and Mars keeps me on his list (I really do like the primary Luke Stone books and the Agent Zero series, though). To me, this is the best book in this series; all the action and suspense you expect and then some. Works fine as a standalone, too. I didn’t like the abrupt ending; it’s almost as if another writer took over the last 20 pages. But still much better writing/editing than in the first two books. This is a good fix when you want a thrill ride with “bulletproof ex-special operator”-heroes.

This is another can’t put down book. You need to be ready for things to happen and are surprised where it takes you. Another great one from Mars.

Jack Mars does it again! Right out of the gate, Luke Stone and the FBI Special Response Team isi thrown into a life and death mission to save an off shore oil rig and its crew. In this novel, Jack Mars deals with the issues of global warming and drilling in protected national lands through the actions of greedy politicians, corporate oil interests and a rogue Russian agent. Another page turner as we travel with Luke and the Special Response Team to the Arctic Circle, Rome, Athens, and Beirut in an effort to save the world from destruction!
