Description

One of the best thriller writers on the planet. The Real Book Spy

In the next thriller in the #1 New York Times bestselling Mitch Rapp series, its a race against the clock when ISIS takes out the entire US power grid and throws the country into chaos.

When Mitch Rapp captures ISIS’s top technology expert, he reveals that he was on his way to meet a man who claims to have the ability to bring down America’s power grid. Rapp is determined to eliminate this shadowy figure, but the CIA’s trap fails.

The Agency is still trying to determine what went wrong when ISIS operatives help this cyber terrorist do what he said he could—plunge the country into darkness. With no concept of how this unprecedented act was accomplished, the task of getting the power back on could take months. Perhaps even years.

Rapp and his team embark on a desperate search for the only people who know how to repair the damage—the ones responsible. But his operating environment is like nothing he’s experienced before. Computers and communication networks are down, fuel can no longer be pumped from gas stations, water and sanitation systems are on the brink of collapse, and the supply of food is running out.

Can Rapp get the lights back on before America descends irretrievably into chaos?

This compulsive thriller proves once again that the Mitch Rapp series is “the best of the best when it comes to the world of special ops” (Booklist, starred review).

Total power to enrapture the reader. With excellent descriptive talents, this book transported me to Washington DC and Texas. I could smell the burnt wood of the house. I could feel the boom and smell the chemicals from the bombs. Another hit with Mitch Rapp. Riveting as always. The twists and turns are well thought out but the U-Turns keep you on the edge of your seat!

  • Absurd plot & almost no Rapp in action.

Disappointing is an understatement. Rapp doesn’t hit action mode until the last few chapters. The plot was stupid.

Sooner or later, it seems logical a situation similar to Mr. Mills story will happen to America. With the current condition of our country, the best thing we can do as Americans is be prepared for the unexpected. Sadly most won’t or can’t. Unless things change, there will be more and more food shortages. However, the epilogue was to dark for me. I hope as a country we don’t sink to the level of our enemies, as portrayed, which is why I gave a 3 star rating.

Mitch Rapp never disappoints! The premise of the book (total power grid failure) is totally believable and maybe possible! Great book!
  • Enjoyable but unimaginative.

I liked it except for the last page. Totally implausible he would include a civilian in what was about to happen.
  • Great Story

I read all the reviews prior to reading the book. I had never run across a topic like the Power Grid being disabled. That’s very scary and I pray it never happens to us. But Mitch in this novel is not “MITCH.” It’s just okay.
  • Total bore

This. Is one of the weakest Mitch Rapp stories. A complete waist of time.
