Description

From the author of Between Takes...

I knew from the moment I met Ryan Evans that he was dangerous.

Not in the reckless, bad-boy way, but in the way he looks at me — like he already knows my secrets, like he sees through every defence I've spent years perfecting.

Men like him don't stop until they get what they want.

And I've spent my life making sure no one gets me.

I've been lied to, used, ghosted and left questioning my worth too many times to count. I don't fall for sweet words or pretty promises, and I definitely don't fall for rockstars on their way to the top.

Ryan was supposed to be in town for one night. But now he's everywhere. Popping up when I least expect him. Surprising me. Serenading me with songs I never should have inspired.

I tell myself it doesn't mean anything. That once he gets bored, he'll move on, just like they always do.

But Ryan isn't leaving.

And if I let myself believe in him, what happens when the rest of the world wants him too?

Chasing Alys is a slow burn steamy rockstar romance. It is the first book following Rhiannon and the first in the True Platinum Series. If you enjoy obsessed cinnamon roll heroes, take no-nonsense heroines and hook ups gone wrong, you'll love Chasing Alys.

Please note, this is the second edition of Chasing Alys with additional editing and new scenes.

Other books in the True Platinum series:

Chasing Alys (A Strangers-to-Lovers Rock Star Romance)

Winning Nia (A Second Chance Rock Star Romance)

Enticing Mel (A Secret Baby Rock Star Romance)

Defying Ella (A Close Proximity Rock Star Romance)

Needing Emily (An Accidental Vegas Wedding/ Runaway Bride Rock Star Romance)

Braving Lily (An Opposites Attract Rock Star Romance)

Daring Ceri (An Enemies to Lovers Second Chance Rock Star Romance)

Marrying Olivia (An Instalove Rock Star Romance)

This book is about 3x too long. It’s not interesting enough to take up so many pages.
  • Four stars because it was better than most free books

This is the first book by this author that I have read. I’ve read a few rockstar romances and they are hit or miss. I started with a sample and it caught my attention, and as the book was free, I went ahead and got the entire thing and finished it in one sitting. I am a fan of her writing style and liked the story. The third act breakup was Alys making a mountain out of a molehill and she bolted without asking Ryan to explain what she saw. Typical. I thought it was a weak cop out, but now that I ended up binge reading the next two in the series (second one is currently free as well, the third one is $4.99). Mel and Nia also have their third act “let me blow this way out of proportion” situations as well. So I’m assuming it’s a theme throughout the series. All in all, not enough to turn me away from her books. It’s borderline 3 stars, but I enjoyed it enough to give it 4. Not feeling Jared’s story, which is next. May skip it.

Well written. I found the characters complex and interesting. The rising rock star angle was intriguing, offering what felt like a realistic glimpse into how difficult it can be to sustain relationships when one or both partners are “celebrities.”

The beginning was slow to start. Happy I stayed with it! They steamy moments weren’t so bad either.

“Kissing was definitely involved, one way or another.” Let me start by just saying I love rockstar romances. They are my favorite romance novels. Yes, sometimes they can seem similar. They are about members of a band, so of course there is something similar. I agree that the stereotype drug addict, womanizer, arrogant rockstar is over-represented, but not all writers do this. Morgana does not. Ryan is nothing like those stereotypes. He’s actually pretty wonderful and I easily fell in love with him myself. I read “Winning Nia” which is book two, first. I loved it so much I went searching for book one and I am now 100% a fan of both Morgana and Rhiannon. I’m counting the days until “Enticing Mel” and even more until “Defying Ella”. “Defying Ella” is going to be Jared’s book. He’s the drummer. I have a serious thing for drummers. 😉 I received this book was an ARC from StoryOrigin in exchange for an impartial review.

Okay so I will say I really enjoyed this book and loved diving in the rockstar world with Ryan and Alys!! For some reason this book me a bit to get into and it might have been because I was frustrated with Alys BUT I will say it definitely got better as I progressed into the book and the ending was *chefs kiss* I loved a lot about it, and Ryan is freaking everything!!!! Onto the next rockstar please 😏😏😏😏 This was my second Morgana Bevan book but definitely won’t be my last!!

Ryan Evans is an up and coming rock star, and women tend to fall at his feet. When he sets his sight on Alys, she is determined to resist him. But Ryan is a charmer, and he refuses to give up. Slowly but surely, Alys begins to feel him chipping away at her defenses, and it terrifies her. If she lets down her walls, then Ryan will have the power to hurt her… and Alys has been hurt far too many times already. This book was super cute! I loved how much work Ryan had to do to convince Alys that he was serious about her. And I liked that Alys always did what she thought was right. They had this kind of instantaneous attraction that was so incredibly obvious, but Alys tried really hard to deny. All in all, it was a good story, and I would recommend it to any rockstar romance lover.

This is my first Morgana Bevan and I absolutely loved it! This is a great rockstar romance. I love how Ryan is with Alys. Alys has been burned so many times by men, cheated on, unknowingly been the other woman & ghosted. She has walls so high that it seems like nobody will ever break them down, but Ryan is definitely up for the challenge. Both Ryan & Alys go through such a change in order to be together. They both have their own pasts that they need to overcome, I absolutely loved their journey.
