Description

As the only Beckett cousin who is still unattached, I’m a shoo-in to win the bet with my cousins to be the last man blissfully not in love by Christmas. Of course, I know they’re still going to make me go follow the rules of our bet and go on six dates with the same woman—but I’ve figured out a way out of that too. I’m getting married.

Is it love? Not even close. Chelle Finch needs a temporary husband and I need to win this bet. We agree to put a ring on it knowing that in six months, this marriage of convenience will end in divorce. Except that somehow, dating my wife has me realizing that I don’t ever want to take this ring off if it means losing her.

What does a guy—who can talk his way out of anything—have to do to sweet-talk his temporary wife into forever?

Each book in the Last Man Standing series is STANDALONE:

The last book of the Beckett cousins, and the last in the Last Man Standing bet, Nash thinks he for sure found a way to help out a lady in distress AND win the bet. He suggests they get married for a short amount of time, which helps them both, no strings or feelings. But really, do we think that’s how it’s going to play out? Lots of feels are caught by both, and in the end, an accidental perfect match was made. Goodness, I loved this series and these cousins!!

Only a few pages in, and I was thinking that Nash was not going to be a character I could cheer for. While his mansplaining wasn’t mean, it was a lot! But Chelle put him in his place, which totally endeared her to me. Yes, her last of confidence was puzzling, since she seemed so outspoken, but those childhood insecurities sometimes don’t go away, even with time. I thought they were a fun couple and enjoyed their banter quite a bit. It was nice to see even more of the “younger” cousins as well, and hope they get their own stories. For me, Grandma Betty’s last gift was a bit anticlimactic, but I’m probably in the minority. Still, I enjoyed this book and the whole series.

The final Beckett cousin was such a surprise!! As much as I wanted to read Nash’s story I was also dreading his exhausting mansplaining. Nash’s relationship with Chelle was basically perfection. I loved how they brought out the best in each other and though there were quite a few bumps in the road, nothing felt insurmountable. This series was so much fun!
  • Great end to a fun series

This is the last book of the Last Man Standing series that centers around three cousins, Dixon, Griff and Nash Beckett. The cousin’s beloved grandmother recently died leaving one unopened gift with no tag. The cousins devise a bet to see who will get to claim the gift. All of them will join Bramble, a dating website where you commit to six dates with the first woman to answer the ad, and the last single man standing wins the gift. Of course, the other cousins get to plan the dates, so all’s fair in love and war. Both Dixon and Griff have found their true loves, so now it is Nash’s turn. Nash is the oldest of his three siblings, and because of his parents’ flakiness, he had to take charge. This take charge attitude manifests itself in Mansplaining. Nash thinks he is a shoo-in to win, when his mother introduces him to a friend who needs a favor. Michelle, Chelle, Finch. Chelle needs to be married in order to satisfy her father’s will and to be able to continue to run the family charity. Nash and Chelle agree to a fake marriage that will ensue that they both get what they want. But as anyone that reads fake relationship romance’s, it does stay fake for long. This is a delightful older, full figured woman, younger man romance. I am bummed that this is the end of the series and hope the author turns to the younger cousins for a future series. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

Loved the third book in this series and I’m sad to see it end. A marriage of convenience for both! She keeps her foundation in tact and he gets to “date” his wife (the dating is set up by his cousins from the previous books) i love a good curvy H romcom. This was a sweet and funny romance that completed the series perfectly. I loved every minute of it. This author as usual does not disappoint. I voluntarily read this book, thank you to the publisher.
