The plot and characters were well developed. Hard life for her and her son and she would do anything to help her son. What -including kidnapping!!!! Self sufficient and a natural way of calming and helping others when they were in a crisis. Although 5 brides came to town none would do for the Dr . Probably because his heart was already attached to this single mom. The book kept me reading till I finished it- never knew what would happen next.
