Description

Artificial intelligence leads to shockingly real danger for the Gray Man in this latest entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

A car accident in Japan.

A drowning in Seoul.

A home invasion in Boston.

Someone is killing the world’s leading experts on robotics and artificial intelligence. Is it a tech company trying to eliminate the competition or is it something even more sinister?

After all, artificial intelligence may be the deadliest battlefield gamechanger since the creation of gunpowder. The first nation to field weapons that can act at the speed of computer commands will rule the battlefield.

It’s an irresistible lure for most, but not for the Gray Man. His quest for a quiet life has led him to Central America where he and his lover, Zoya Zakharova, have assumed new identities. With a list of enemies that  includes billionaires, terrorists, and governments, they need to keep a low profile, but the world’s deadliest assassin can’t expect to hide out forever.

Eventually, they’re tracked down and offered a job by an old acquaintance of Zoya’s. He needs their help extracting a Russian scientist who is on the kill list. They reject the offer, but just being seen with him is enough to put assassins on their trail.

Now, they’re back on the run, but no matter which way they turn, it's clear that whoever's tracking them is always going to be one step ahead. Since flight’s no longer possible, fight is the only option left, and no one fights dirtier than the Gray Man.

This story has so many scary possibilities of being a reality. All the characters I have loved in this journey were there and going full force! I love the conflict with ethics and loyalty. An amazing story to add to this awesome series. On to the next one….

Action in this one starts from the beginning and doesn’t let up. Guessing we will see this on the big screen (or streaming) soon.

Was hoping to continue the Gray Man Series with this book, but what a huge disappointment. Nothing like the previous Court Gentry . . very little of Court, in fact. Too detailed, repetitive, and filled with AI Intelligence jargon. Just get to the point, and follow the plot line. I put it down 3/4 of the way through.
  • Good plot but to detailed

Long and unnecessarily detailed. Need plot to just get to it.
  • "Gentry, 'Court' Gentry

Greaney decided to James Bond-up his hero Gentry, which he’s been taking the series for a while. Felt like I was watching Dr No and The World is Not Enough and No Time to Die mashed together at the end. And of course, words…lots of words

Full of action, the terrifying reality of AI, and a deep dive into all characters, most importantly, Gentry. Do yourself a favor and make your summer better by reading this terrific, frightening book.

Hold on to your seat because this story tears through the saga of a multimillionaire brain guy who may be the biggest success or failure to the world, who knows? But so much is happening in this story, the characters are intense and fascinating, and there are numerous characters, some we all are familiar with, and the search to stop terror continues, up a dangerous and blind alley. The grey man is involved from the beginning, hang on to your seat, this ride is really something….

I thought this book was pretty good but not a favorite of this series. There’s certainly some real world danger here (sounds a lot like the Terminator) and while some ideas here may feel like science fiction if you watch the interviews the author gives it’s very much a reality. I do feel like the signature Gray Man evasiveness and fighting skills were missing a bit and hope the next book provides it mire.
