Description

They say the world used to turn. They say that night would follow day in an endless dance. They say that dawn rose, dusk fell, and we worshiped both sun and stars.

That was a long time ago.

The dance has died. The world has fallen still. We float through the heavens, one half always in light, one half always in shadow. Like the moth of our forests, one wing white and the other black, we are torn.

My people are the fortunate. We live in daylight, blessed in the warmth of the sun. Yet across the line, the others lurk in eternal night, afraid... and alone in the dark.

I was born in the light. I was sent into darkness. This is my story.
Moth -- a fantasy novel for fans of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings

Great character development and story telling from different sides of individuals. Very fast pace so you won’t get bored easily
  • Incredibly boring

The characters themselves are weak and act illogically, I understand you have to actually develop a character and pace that well but the pacing is atrocious. They are consistently weak and unable to accomplish anything to the point it’s just annoying to read.

Repeating descriptions and characters do stupid things, when if they could learn their lesson the first time, entire pages of this book would be eliminated

I downloaded this book three years ago and never got around to reading it. Finally read it, and boy I hope the authors writing has improved since 2013, because this novel is absolute trash. I read the whole thing while traveling, and oof, I really could not recommend this book to anyone. The plot was thinly veiled from the start, the characters were trash (Bailey for example, is the most annoying character ever convinced), the setting was the only thing that the book had going for it, like I’m a sucker for medieval genre novels, and the whole earth not spinning stuff, lit. But it was all so poorly executed it made me want to kill myself. Doesn’t deserve 2 starts, but won’t let me give it 1.5, so 🤷🏻‍♂️

This book is not a genre that I would normally read, but it was the first book in a long time I didn't use as an aid to help me get to sleep. This book had quite the opposite effect. I couldn't put it down. Strong, evolving characters coupled with imaginative, descriptive scenes left me turning pages and reading in bed with one eye open, fighting exhaustion, because I didn't want to go to sleep without finding out what happened next. I fell in love with Koyee, her struggles, her strength, and her adaptability. I'm looking forward to losing more sleep when I read the rest of the series.
  • Interesting premise, but...

The book just doesn't reach a climax until the very end. It could easily cut 200 pages short without any difference. The characters are very shallow and present any development. Predictable developments, predictable ending. The only reason I didn't give up reading it, was that I had already invested too much time giving it a chance to get better and felt that I should as well finish it then. Other than that, won't be reading any other book from this series or author.

Great story but same old descriptive words used tirelessly over and over. How many times are you going to smash someone with your sword or arrow. Sadly his other books use the same descriptives.

This book was a bit slow at first, but the novel picks up and picks up very fast. Near the end of the book I couldn't put down my iPod. The ending gave me the jitters, and I need MORE!!!!! Picking up this book for free was awesome, and the next book is at a good price. I recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy or si-fi.
