Description

A North Korean ICBM crashes into the Sea of Japan. A veteran CIA officer is murdered in Ho Chi Minh City, and a package of forged documents goes missing. The pieces are there, but assembling the puzzle will cost Jack Ryan, Jr. and his fellow Campus agents precious time. Time they don’t have.

The challenge facing President Jack Ryan is an old one with a terrifying new twist. The international stalemate with North Korea continues into its seventh decade. A young, untested dictator is determined to prove his strength by breaking the deadlock. Like his father before him, he hangs his plans on the country’s nuclear ambitions. Until now, that program was impeded by a lack of resources. However, there has been a dramatic change in the nation’s economic fortune. A rich deposit of valuable minerals have been found in the Hermit Kingdom. Coupled with their nuclear capabilities, the money from this find will make North Korea a dangerous force on the world stage.

There’s just one more step needed to complete this perfect plan…the elimination of the president of the United States.

First half of novel I thought I was reading a textbook on Asian history. Thankfully it finally developed into a story with characters and intrigue. I almost gave up, but glad I stuck with it.

Very good and exciting book. Kept my attention. At times it got into a little too detail, but I definitely recommend anyone who enjoys spy type books with a good story should read this one.

Mr Clancy may have passed on but his characters live for us to follow and enjoy. The plot fit in very well with the world as we know it in 2015. I wish that the North Korean people would rebel against their leqder. Can't wait until they make this into a movie

This is a typical Tom Clancy/Jack Ryan novel - fantastic! I enjoyed this one better than all the others! Why? In the past, at times, he would get so involved in details to set up a character or situation that I found myself skipping ahead to get to the point. I did not find that in this one, which made it a quick, easy to read novel. I highly recommend this novel. It's too good to pass up!

Not the best in his series but a captivating novel. The end seems to have been rushed and kind of a let down.

An enjoyable read to be sure. The storyline was true to the 30 year legacy of Tom Clancy. My only grievance , and believe me its personal preference, I grew up in NY and foul language was our stock in trade. However, f bombs do not enhance the story at all. I dont recall Tom Clancy relying on them. Petty I guess but otherwise it was a solid story and look forward to the next installment.

Outstanding book. The flow of the book was excellent and kept the readers attention. It amazing that some of the technology is in open sources, however, the author has done his homework, looking forward to the sexual.

The Jack Ryan novels have been a great story line for sometime. I'll miss Tom Clancy. I recall many of the Jack Ryan movies staring Harrison Ford with the same enthusiasm as I did with this book. Read it. You'll enjoy it to the bitter end.
