Description

THE ALL-NEW KGI NOVEL from the “incredibly awesome" (Jaci Burton) #1 New York Times bestselling author of When Day Breaks.

The Kelly Group International (KGI): A super-elite, top secret, family-run business.
Qualifications: High intelligence, rock-hard body, military background.
Mission: Hostage/kidnap victim recovery. Intelligence gathering. Handling jobs the U.S. government can’t...

The enigmatic Hancock has been both opponent and ally to the KGI teams for as long as they've known him. Always working a deep game, Hancock's true allegiance has never been apparent, but one thing is for certain—he never lets anything get in the way of duty.

But now, his absolute belief in the primacy of his ultimate goal is challenged by a captive he's been ordered to guard, no matter how much she suffers in her prison. She's the only woman who's ever managed to penetrate the rigid walls surrounding his icy heart, but will he allow his perplexing feelings for the beautiful victim to destroy a mission he's spent years working to complete or will he be forced to sacrifice her for “the greater good.”

The ending almost ruined it. I’m all about the happy ending but this ending was completely unbelievable... I can’t explain without spoiling it for those who haven’t read it but Honor was the most incredible heroine in all of this series in my opinion and Hancock was great... Until the epilogue. It was a great book and so far I have liked almost all of the books in this series.

This is without the best book of the series, I think the best book ever read. I never cried so much, I loved it. I covered every emotion. Who says you don't get better with age. I can't wait to see what's next & how you're going to top this. I love the characters & how they all came together at the end. The saddest part was Mojo, that part I didn't like wish it could have been different. Just love, love, love it.

I have read all of the KGI series and loved every one of them. Darkest Before Dawn is no exception. I was looking forward to Hancock's story and I knew it would not just be a story of a good guy meets and saves the woman. That was never Hancock. The first 200 pages was not a sweet suspenseful romance story. It was a gripping realistic tale of war and it's casualties of behind the scenes of a disbanded ghost group that had previously worked for the government. It was a bit tough for me to read. (would never consider not reading) The last 150 pages was Hancock coming to a realization of his love for Honor and how to complete a mission and save her in the process. The story had me stopping at times because it left me in tears, but loved Hancock and Honor's story. I really enjoyed when the call went to the KGI group for their help. Love Maya Banks and I praise her for writing Hancock such a realistic story, but of course a wonderful HEA. Highly recommend Darkest Before Dawn or any of the books in the KGI series. 5 Stars!

I LOVED all of Banks' KGI books. This was beyond disappointing. My sense was Banks' heart just wasn't in the writing of this book.
