Description

When bodies go missing from the cemetery, Lincoln and the Ministry of Curiosities investigate. But not Charlie. As a housemaid at Lichfield Towers, she doesn't get involved in Ministry business.

Instead, she conducts investigations of her own. She searches for details about her real mother, and makes inquiries into Lincoln's background. What she learns has the power to destroy the fragile trust they've built, or bring them closer together.

As secrets are revealed, and investigations don't go as planned, Charlie finds her necromancy sucking her into a whirlpool filled with betrayal, lies and danger.

This is not an epic novel and won’t be compared to The Sword of Truth, Wheel of Time or Harry Potter. The reason for 5 stars is that her writing style is fluid. It feels like a long story, told by a friend at the best barbecue you’ve ever been to; and you don’t want it to stop. The first book was free, the 2nd book $2.99 and the third which I’m about to buy is $4.99. I’ve read two books in two days and received $20+ worth of entertainment. Keep em coming Ms Archer.

Loved this book, good writing and really good proofreading. Very talented author I have Purchased the second book, but it is pricey at $4.99 don’t know if I will be able to buy others in series, I would definitely recommend this book.

I fell in love with the first book and read it over and over until I could purchase the second. Although the first in the series is much more suspenseful, I still loved it so much that it took me less than one day to read the second. And it was amazing to get the ending that I wanted and still be able to look forward to continuing the story. I purchased book 3 immediately.

This book holds my very interest in fantasy mystery. I chose to read this book on the hopes of achieving my daily reading goals. Surprisingly, I couldn’t stop reading the book. I finished reading the book after few hours. The storyline line was engrossing. I was totally immersed in the book. Trust me this book is a must read!. Unfortunately, only Book 1 was free and after reading, it drives you with urges to buy and read the the other 10 parts of the book. Sadly, I don’t have $4.99 for each other part of the book.

Fascinating story and very interesting characters. I have read books 1 and 2 right after each other and now am on book 3. My iPhone tells me that my reading time per day is 9 hours and 7 min. Yes I am on vacation. Reading in Hawaii. That's how crazy enjoyable and addictive this series is.

The main character grates on my nerves but the writing is great as usual. This author has a sort of formula that I'd noticed from her other trilogies that soured over time for me, but with this one it feels like she's mixed it up a bit and it feels more comfortable and fresh. It's a good read, better than the first installment of this series, but unfortunately I can't really bring myself to stomach the main character, which is just a personal feeling on my end I believe and doesn't reflect the writing.
