William Edward Burghardt Du Bois (1868-1963) was an Afro-American writer, sociologist and civil rights fighter.
In this short autobiographical piece of literary work Du Bois tells us about his experience as a teacher - about the first school he taught at. He tells us about a hard way he walked to get there, to the hills of Tennessee and the feeling of his first victory as this position - something that forced him to move further.
