For all it’s shortcomings, it’s a supremely readable story. Fine entertainment for an evening. It does get repetative with descriptions of the main characters aches and pains. And their dialog was at times frustrating, with them refusing to talk to each other about important matters. It didn’t sound lke a normal reluctance to speak about uncomfortable things. Also I didn’t understand the fate of the undeground creature at the end. No idea why or how that change occurred. Still, I kept turning pages and enjoyed the ride. Nice work.

Very good story. Dragged a bit in the middle but picked up nicely for the conclusion
