Description

NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE STARRING BLAKE LIVELY AND JUSTIN BALDONI!

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Starts with Us and All Your Perfects, a “brave and heartbreaking novel that digs its claws into you and doesn’t let go, long after you’ve finished it” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author) about a young woman in a new relationship who can’t stop thinking about her first love.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. And when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life seems too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

An honest, evocative, and tender novel, It Ends with Us is “a glorious and touching read, a forever keeper. The kind of book that gets handed down” (USA TODAY).

I don’t ever really read romance novels. This one took me a couple times to try and read it. But once I got far enough, I was hooked. I think this book did justice for all the DV survivors. Definitely relatable. Definitely brung out every emotion there is. From mad, to sad, then happy. I absolutely loved this book!

It truly shows how it affects not only the physical but what actually goes on inside of someone’s head. The trauma, the emotions, the excuses, the love, the pain. All of it. It shows other woman who haven’t been through it exactly how it feels. Lily said something in Chapter 32 the describes it best, “I tell myself that maybe it isn’t that bad. Maybe I could put up with him when he’s at his worst just so I can have him when he’s at his best.” I also loved how REALISTIC it was especially with characters like Ryle. Although what he did was HORRIBLE and inexcusable, he was still a PERSON you know? Not just a super villain in a cartoon. And I also loved how it showed how much strength and mental turmoil it truly takes to leave. It’s not always money, it the manipulation, it’s the love you still have, it’s the self doubt etc etc. It was just such a work of art truly.

  • Book ruined by Blake Lively

Was a great book, finished quickly but was ruined by how Blake Lively mishandled media relations. Domestic violence is a theme, and while it may be entertainment or something to down play for some, her actions and representation has ruined my view on the book or any desire to read or see the second book/movie if there is one.
