Not really up to Parker/Stone standards. Overly complex and complicated. Mostly not believable in any sense of reality. A far cry from the usual Parkeresque plotting and action.

I sat for hours at a time reading this book, spellbound by the suspense, building to the bitter end. Bravo.
  • Not Robert Parker style

The author needs to study the style of Robert Parker and try to imitate him like Ace Akins does in his Spenser series. Having said that, the book was pretty good in places. But the writer is woefully ignorant about geography and climate with his incorrect comments about the oven hot heat in Dallas in September which it is a total misnomer. But in the end I didn't like the book because of the ending and his treatment of the principle characters. Made the book end on a sour note.

Probably the best of the Parker writers. Good story. Has the characters down pat. Not quite the flavor of Parker but pretty darn good.
