Description

Discover the steamy small-town romance - now a USA Today bestseller! Perfect for fans of Elsie Silver and Lucy Score.

They say that time heals a broken heart, but you try moving on when your ex is the most famous man on the planet…

At least, that’s what it feels like every time I see a magazine cover or billboard plastered with his gorgeous face: Finn McKay. Now he’s a drop-dead sexy rock star, but when I knew him, he was just the boy from the wrong side of the tracks - and the first guy I ever loved. He broke my heart into a hundred pieces when he skipped town without saying goodbye – but now he’s back.

And he wants me.

I’m determined not to make the same mistakes twice, but the chemistry with Finn was always way too hot to ignore. The past five years have been good to him, real good, and between his dirty mind and that ‘I know how to make you scream’ smile, he’s breaking through my defenses all over again.

Maybe one last wild fling for old time’s sake is what I need to finally move on. But what happens when Finn wants more than my body?

This time he wants my heart, too.

"A must-read second-chance romance. Heartwarming, swoony, and sexy as hell!" - Claire Contreras, New York Times bestselling author

I loved this book it was very easy to read and had the perfect amount of everything. Really shows the concept of forgiveness and communication in a relationship.

Female protagonist is a pathetic loser who flushes, blushes, and fumbles around. She has spent five years mooning over her ex . . . and nothing else. Oh no wait, she is a realtor and volunteers at an animal shelter, but don’t worry, she doesn’t let either get in the way of her incessant wallowing. When her ex returns, she pretends to be conflicted before falling into bed with him because she simply cannot resist. How original. Add in the nonexistent character development and repetitive writing, this cringeworthy tale is a must miss.

Loved Eva and Finns love story. The author ropes you in from the very beginning. I loved her descriptive ways of painting a picture with her words. You could picture the scene as if you were actually there. Loved the HEA and that they got their second chance. A must read.

"See, I want to make one thing clear," I tell her, still holding tight, feeling her body relax again, pulled back from the edge. "I'll do anything for you, baby. Anything you want. I will love you until the end of the...world, but you don't get to shut me out again. When I take you, I take all of you. Every last piece of you, body and soul." Oh, my goodness, Melody Grace, I die. Why, you ask? Two words: Finn McKay. This man, this wonderful, loving, sweet, hot man, has won me over, heart and soul. I have been a fan of Melody Grace for a very long time. Instantly smitten by her Beachwood Bay series, I grew to love the stories of broken folks that found love, peace, and their other halves, in a lovely little town on the coast of North Carolina. Seeing the end of the series left me feeling a little bit like I was leaving friends behind, and a place that I had grown to love. So, when I came across the blurb for HEARTBREAKER, Melody's latest book, I was so excited to see what she had in store for us. High school sweethearts, Eva and Finn were everything to each other. When he left her and their hometown of Oak Harbor without a word or a backward glance, Eva was heartbroken. Leaving town seemed like the best medicine, but broken dreams, a life spinning out of control, and the pull of the peace of Oak Harbor drew her back home. Finn, though, made a life that he'd always dreamed of, finding fame and success through his music. Seeing him in Oak Harbor again was the last thing that anyone expected, and his return has Eva reeling, especially when Finn makes it clear that he's back for her. He was our claim to fame now, the wayward son made good, and even though it would have been easier if he'd just stayed gone, there's a part of me that knew this was inevitable. One day Finn would be coming home. I loved this book. From the first page through to the last word, I could not read quickly enough. In her typical style, Melody has written a story full of love, passion, longing, and redemption. These characters are well-rounded and complex, flawed, yet honest and open, and their passion for each other was palpable. I love that, while there is plenty of sizzle, it is the emotion that leaps off the page, the tie that binds Eva and Finn together, despite, or perhaps because of, their past. HEARTBREAKER is a 5+ star read for me, and one of my favorites of 2016. Thank you, Melody, for sharing Eva's and Finn's story with us. It was absolutely worth the wait.
  • Second chance at Love

What is better then your first love........it's getting a second chance with your first love. I loved that this book had it all....it had love, passion, drama, teen angst, and heartbreak. Finn was everything to Eva, but Finn had fears of his own that he did not want to tell Eva about. He may have left for her own good only to try to make himself a better man for her, not knowing that he was already all she wanted and needed. I love a second chance at love story. Separately they went through the heartbreak of losing each other and losing themselves this game of life. I think they needed to experience that lose in order to be stronger for each other this second time around. I loved this book, because I think this is one of the most relate able things that two people can go through together. I mean it also did not hurt that Finn was a dirty, dirty talker and that Eva was down with his dirty ways......nothing is hotter then a man who knows he made a mistake and is willing to do whatever it takes to fix the mistake. MUST READ!!!!!!
  • Melody Grace at her best!

This book is Melody Grace at her best! The feels! Oh, the feels had me wrapped up so tightly, it was like someone was gripping my heart and refusing to let go! This book is a second chance romance book with young lovers who were too young to understand the impact of the choices they were forced to make. Their heartache was real. Their love was real. The angst real. And their sexy-times scenes were smokin' hot, filled with dirty talk and possessive need. Finn and Eva lit up my Kindle like fireworks on the fourth of July, and when the book was over, I was left smiling and thankful for the journey I just took with them. I'm hoping this is the start of a new series for Melody, as Eva's sister and BFF definitely have stories to be told!! If you are new to Melody Grace, pick up this book! Pick up her Beachwood Bay series. But don't go another day without having her sweet and sexy, small-town romance novels in your life!
