Description

Who is the handsome cowboy who comes into small town Marietta's chocolate shop every week to buy a box of chocolates? More importantly...who is he buying the chocolates for? These are the questions sales clerk Rosie Linn asks herself as she waits for her sadly neglected childhood home to sell so she can pursue an exciting new career in L.A.

Rosie finds out the answers the day rugged ranch hand Brant Willingham introduces himself and asks for her help in managing the care of his younger sister. Brant's mother has recently died, leaving him the sole guardian of eighteen-year-old Sara Maria--who has been a puzzle to Brant ever since she began exhibiting signs of autism at age two.

Rosie and Brant come up with a plan. She'll help with his sister if he handles repairs and a new paint job for her old house. It seems the perfect solution, but a new dilemma is created when the couple start spending time together. Brant discovers he doesn't want Rosie to sell and leave, and Rosie fears she will have to choose between love and her dreams.

What I got to read of the book was good. Unfortunately, 3 BIG sections of the book were missing. I don’t know what happened, but it was very disappointing, especially the section just before the end of the book. I will say that it’s a clean love story without having to skip page after page of explicit sex scenes. I always appreciate that.

An awesome start to a new series, of Love at the Chocolate shop. Now, who doesn't love chocolate! Rosie, works at Sage's (my dream job) where she meets Brant. Brant comes in every Friday to buy chocolate for someone sweet. That someone turns out to be his autistic sister, Sara. All three of them develop a friendship and help each other out, plus you Henry the dog. Loved the chemistry between Rosie and Brant. Plus, The Carringan family is one of my favorite families. This book shows how special families and friends are. Can't wait to hear more on Portia!

Brant Willingham comes into Copper Mountain Chocolates every Friday to pick up a box of chocolates. Every week the sales clerk Rosie Linn tries to tempt him into buying a different flavor convinced he is buying them for a woman. When Brant asks Rosie to become a companion for his autistic sister there attraction isn't part of the plan. As payment to Rosie Brant offers to help Rosie fix up her house so she can sell it and move to LA to advance her career as a screenwriter. That's where the trouble begins. I really enjoyed this book. All of the main characters were interesting and fun to get to know. it was a great start to a new series.

"Melt My Heart, Cowboy" by CJ Carmichael is book number one in the "Love at the Chocolate Shop" series. This is Brant Willingham and Rosie Linn's story. Rosie is working at the Chocolate Shop until she can sell her home then she is moving to LA for a new career. Brant is a cowboy working and living in the bunk house on a ranch. His mother has passed away and now he is responsible for the care of his autistic sister. At this time she is in a care facility but needs more in her life than what the care facility can give her. Brant is really frustrated because he just doesn't know how to deal with this situation. Brant gets Rosie to help with his sister. Since Rosie is spending so much time with Brant's sister they end spending time together. There is an attraction and chemistry between them. But, should they start a relationship since she will be moving as soon as her house sells plus Brant has to consider his sister's needs? I enjoyed Brant and Rosie's story. This is a sweet and heartwarming story. The story also brought awareness to the challenges that families experience in dealing with autism. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I really liked this story. Although all the talk of chocolates really made me hungry. Rosie and Brant were great characters and I loved how they worked together. She had a crush on Brant before she even knew his name, as he was a regular customer at the chocolate shop where she worked. Brant's sister, his concern for his sister at least, finally brought them together outside of the chocolate shop. They were both at turning points in their lives with big decisions to make. I liked how things played out for all of them. I really wish Sage's chocolate shop was a real place, I would definitely be a regular customer.

The dynamics between Rosie and Brant and their families past are similar but different and each is able to help each other overcome their faults and turn them into strengths. Rosie being able to help Brant come to terms with his sister was amazing. I have never been disappointed in a story by CJ and she has quickly became one of my favorite authors. Looking forward to more from the chocolate shop! Received an ARC for an honest and fair review.
