Description

The #1 New York Times bestselling author continues her evocative Westmoreland Dynasty Saga with this romance following two defiant hearts clashing over a furious battle of wills in the glorious age of chivalry.

Abducted from her convent school, headstrong Scottish beauty Jennifer Merrick does not easily surrender to Royce Westmoreland, Duke of Claymore. Known as “The Wolf,” his very name strikes terror in the hearts of his enemies. But proud Jennifer will have nothing to do with the fierce English warrior who holds her captive, this handsome rogue who taunts her with his blazing arrogance.

Boldly she challenges his will—until the night he takes her in his powerful embrace, awakening in her an irresistible hunger. And suddenly Jennifer finds herself ensnared in a bewildering web…a seductive, dangerous trap of pride, passion, loyalty, and overwhelming love.

Since this is the first book in the series, please continue with the other books so that you do not get the feeling of stagnant character development that I got at first! Every plot, of each book, has its own uniqueness. However, I must note that I expected better for Mr.DuVille! I wondered through each book, why in Gods name each man had amazing attributes but were sorely misguided and exemplified the very attributes they detested in others especially their respective love interests. As you read, you’ll note that these are all male characters that are well into their 30s but behave and react like someone 2 times their junior. I had to constantly remind myself of the times or century that these characters are born from and then I was able to continue through my frustrations with the characters! When I began reading through that lens, I began enjoying each character, their admissions throughout the storylines and their exceeding efforts to be better in their relationships. And I’m reminded that this is how most relationships and marriages are tested even in this century. How many times relationships and marriages suffer from lack of communication, mutual understanding and how we all have jumped fully into a commitment under the guise of love but no TRUST!! All in all, if you read all the books, you will come away understanding why each character made the choices and even the mistakes they made and fully appreciate the deeper love they have as a result! Love ain’t always rainbows and unicorns!

as someone in the 21st century, I had some issues with this book but it was a good read in general. Side note: can authors please stop using “little one” as a romantic endearment? It’s terrible and completely off-putting.

Judith McNaught is incomparable, no matter how much I have looked for an author just as good. Her books are almost all repeat worthy, and this one is my all-time favorite. Multiple reads later, I still love Royce Westmoreland. I can feel everything I read, and every detail fits perfectly for a magnificent love story. It’s a classic. Meaning: must read.

I loved loved loved loved this book!! All the praise over the years is absolutely worth it. Jenny was so strong and stubborn. Even when she was foolish and naive, i still loved her. I understood her struggles. Even when i want to yelled at her to just give in to Royce already, i still liked and understood her. I absolutely loved Royce. Even though he thought Jenny betrayed him twice, he still loved her. He tried to understand and forgive her. I actually appreciated the incident with William. I liked that Royce owned up to his mistake and i understood Jenny for being upset. I even understood all the crazy that happened in resolute of that situation. The tournament really hit me in the heart though. Everything that Royce went through brought tears to my eyes. I was so happy when Jenny finally realized what was happening and ran to him. I loved every scene throughout the book. I loved all the knights that bonded with Jenny as well. When Arik hugged Jenny i smile so big and then when he got his Christmas present and was happy I almost started clapping lol. Such a wonderful story. I honestly want a side story about Arik, Brenna and Stefan, and Godfrey. I loved them all! I teared up when the meaning of the title was revealed in the story <3 I honestly loved every bit of this book and i'm so glad i finally read it.

I absolutely loved this book, and quite honestly, sad that it ended! I loved the unpredictability and surprises in the plot! The only thing I feel was unresolved was what happened with Jenny's family and the outcome of her people. I want to know more! Ahh it was so good but I sit here sad because I want more! Judith I want more!

I've been waiting years for the digital version of this book and the entire Westmoreland series. It is my all-time favorite. (The editors sure do need to do a better job of proof-reading. I was surprised to see so many errors from such first-class publishers.)
