David Lindsay (1876-1945) was never a particularly successful author, but he was certainly an influential one with C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien among the enthusiasts of his work. 'A Voyage to Arcturus', a bold, imaginative and philosopical landmark in early 20th Century science fiction, remains his most well-known and regarded work. In the spirit of its genre this novel is way, way ahead of its time and our own.
