Description

"A tour de force – a gripping, twisting, furiously clever read that asks all the right questions, and keeps you guessing until the very end. I loved it." Ruth Ware

"Haunting. Mesmerizing. Unforgettable." — Gillian Flynn

In the summer of 1999, Kit and Laura travel to a festival in Cornwall to see a total eclipse of the sun. Kit is an eclipse chaser; Laura has never seen one before. Young and in love, they are certain this will be the first of many they’ll share.

But in the hushed moments after the shadow passes, Laura interrupts a man and a woman. She knows that she saw something terrible. The man denies it. It is her word against his.

The victim seems grateful. Months later, she turns up on their doorstep like a lonely stray. But as her gratitude takes a twisted turn, Laura begins to wonder—did she trust the wrong person?

15 years later, Kit and Laura married are living under new names and completely off the digital grid: no Facebook, only rudimentary cell phones, not in any directories. But as the truth catches up to them, they realize they can no longer keep the past in the past.

From Erin Kelly, queen of the killer twist, He Said/She Said is a gripping tale of the lies we tell to save ourselves, the truths we cannot admit, and how far we will go to make others believe our side of the story.

Although I felt like the story drug along in the beginning I’m glad I stuck with it because the story ended up being great. The later twists and surprises kept me interested and wanting to know more. If you give it a try you won’t be sorry.

It took me a while to really get into this book, but once I did I was hooked. That last paragraph owned me, bravo!

I can usually read a good (even decent) book in about a week, sometimes just a few days I’m really into it. This book took me 5 weeks to get through. It was just sooooo long and so dragged out. I didn’t even understand where the author was going with anything until maybe halfway through. It wasn’t until the last “phase” of the book where it finally captured my attention. Seriously, don’t waste you’re time.

I absolutely loved this book and it keeps you on your toes the whole time, with spin after spin!! The setting was amazing as well as the plot and character development. The only issue I had (thankfully there is the "look up" option, on iBooks) was the use of so many words and references to places through out England. I have read many other books written by authors from all over the world, and have pretty much understood everything, but a few things here and there, but I must say in this book, there were so many times that I had no idea what or where the author was talking about! One other thing I must say too that confused me were the dates in the last couple of chapters...they didn't seem to add up correctly. It's the date in the very beginning of the book and the date when that scene is repeated at the end. If someone can clear that up for me, that would be great! Other then those few things, this is definitely a must read book if you are a thriller fan! I can't wait to read more from this author!

I loved the suspense. They were always looking for her. It was so realistic. With the eclipse coming in August this was a perfect read. I received an advanced readers copy from St. Martin's press.
