Not normally a reader of semi sci-fi as this is what I consider the book. Must admit I would never have guessed without knowing in advance it was a 4 book series. One book is sufficient is my suggestion as do not like series. Hey, I am a 75 y/o Grami so I do not put icing on a review. The characters were good and seemed to fit their roles in the book. It had some great nail biter parts that I was on the edge of my seat while reading. Was compelled to finish tonight and it is 1:05AM. General opinion - good book!

This was a fun fantasy read. If one can accept that an evil person would be patient enough to work for over thirty years toward such a mind and world domination goal. And have at the start the huge amount of money to develop the people with the skills required that were equally twisted so to follow that person’s goals. Then it will be worth reading. I do agree that the books needed more editing and spell checking. Characters were well developed and plot was great.

The overall story was good and the chance to read it through was important. Having said that, it felt like it should be edited to about 1/2 the total pages and the flow improved. Also, additional editing is needed.

The overall plot of the book was interesting and intriguing. I managed to get through all 4 volumes in a short amount of time. There were a few plot holes that didn’t make sense, such as Gabi being a great detective in the TWO largest police departments in the country and yet she was terrible at her job; although she told us how good and smart she was quite often. Nobody is taught in law enforcement how to “disable someone with a blow to the head” as that would be extremely dangerous AND illegal. There were a LOT of spelling and grammatical errors that kept my OCD on high and the research is lacking. The author clearly has a little knowledge on the subject, but relied heavily on TV versions of police officers. Cops don’t “hold their guns to their chin” and don’t get to go on paid leave for months without continual mental health evaluations. The book is a fun read, but not the best fiction I’ve read.

Very good box set; filled with lots of excitement with twist and turns on every page. Great build out on each of the main characters and the plot lines are magnified by the changes seen and experienced by these characters.

Wow! These books held me captive all the way to the epilogue. I had a few hunches but never guessed the outcome. The twists and turns in the plot had me hanging on not wanting to put the book down. You’ll love Gabi, Jamie and Ian!

I found the book overall outstanding. It kept my attention even though it is 1200 pages. There are several misspelled words which detracts slightly.

Babi comes off as needing severe mental help. She is constantly getting off tract, seems to know it all, no police officer is worth anything yet she constantly has the wrong person as a suspect. She is supposed to be “solving” her husbands murder, yet can’t concentrate on it, and puts her nose everywhere it don’t belong. She runs to all her so called suspects with questions. Do you really believe these people wouldn’t tell her to get lost. Personally, if some nut showed up at my house pretending to be a cop, I would call the cops and have them arrested. Book is so wrong in so many ways. Pity.
