This is much different than Ashoka’s book and I felt the story had no direct purpose, with too many characters and way to many details on clothes and surrounding worlds. I got bored with the details and felt the story could have been much different if it had been written differently. Also you have to know a few of the star wars characters to set you correctly and not get lost on their purpose.

Padmé is my comfort character and this novel did her justice I don’t know if any other author could bring. From the intricacies of naboo politics and her wardrobe to diving deeper into Padmé’s relationship with her handmaidens- Sabé in particular. If you’re looking for an action packed novel this isn’t for you, but if you love the galactic politics of the republic and getting to explore Padmé’s character on a deeper level, beyond just her relationship with Anakin.
