Description

Bodyguard.

Tracker.

Silent Observer.

Life was in the details. The weight of a government issued rifle, the trajectory of a bullet, the speed of the wind—those details were crucial in the Marines. But outside the military, that level of observation was currency, and I was selling my skills to the best security firm in south Florida.

Except I wasn't on a job when I noticed the nervous brunette pushing through the crowded street. Her hair loose, her shirt borrowed, she stumbled in too-big shoes before looking over her shoulder. I didn't follow her glance. I didn't have to. I'd already spotted the muscle after her. The question was if I was going to do anything about it. Before I could decide, her pursuer took aim. It was the wrong move.

Now he was going to find out how callous a bodyguard could be.

  • It was okay

It was an okay read. It had some endearing moments between Mercy and her sweet six year old son, Nash who is deaf but could read lips and uses sign language to communicate. Loved there were brief interactions with recurring Alpha sexy ex-Marines like Andre’, Ty, and Talon. Also it started to slowly introduce then new ‘bodyguard’ Thomas Knight. As for Preston, he was almost like Neil Christiansen in a weird kind of way in the beginning. Almost robotic cryptic at first but it does explain how he wanted to have control all the time. But it did show after being separated from Mercy for seven years, he really truly loves Mercy and Nash. Sailing smoothly trying to read every single of the Alpha Bodyguard series.

Huge fan of all of her books & Viking has been my favorite from the beginning but with that being said, I’ve always been a fan of Pres as well! This book is the best one I’ve read so far. Knocked it out of the park. I’m just speechless. 10/10

Wow! I really thought Sybil could not top the Viking and then came Preston Vos! Still LOVE the Viking, but Preston and Mercy’s story was so wonderfully written. It had all the feels. 5 stars across the board!

One of my favorites so far. Something about those quiet reserved mysterious men. We are introduced to Mercy’s sons biological dad who is strikingly similar to Talon’s personality. But there can only be one Talon. There is competition between Preston and Sam (Nash’s biological father) in the beginning which sets the tone for the rest of the book. I will say this book only had a slight I’m in trouble with bad guys issue and it was refreshing. This more so focused on these two passed trials that were holding them back.

After reading Ty’s story, I wondered when we would get to read Mercy’s. Although this wasn’t full of suspense and adrenaline like the others, it was still a pretty good read. Not one of my favorites, and I feel like it was messed up to give Mercy up like that in the beginning. Buuuut Preston redeemed himself.

I highly recommend this story however be warned that it is different and not usual in the beginning!! I wanted to quit reading but I’m not a quitter as a rule 😉 I stuck with it and am glad I did!! I also liked that Sybil has blurbs regarding the previous books in the series, I like re-freshing myself with the characters!!
