Sky Patterns is part of the Smithsonian Science Stories Literacy Series. Sky Patterns features short stories that pair with the module, How Can We Predict When the Sky Will Be Dark? Both are aligned to grade 1 standards. In Sky Patterns, students will read about objects in the sky and how living things, including people, react to patterns in the sky.
Sky Patterns includes the following features:
• Stories that focus on the pattern of objects in the day and night sky
• Stories that highlight STEM careers
• Incorporation of Moon artwork from the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Freer
• Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, objects from the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture and the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, and images from the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian
