Description

Four failed engagements. One year-long hiatus on women.

Elliott Sullivan loves being in love, but after his latest romantic disaster, his friends and family finally put their foot down—no relationships or proposals for at least a year. Ready for his heart not to be squashed under another sexy high-heel, he agrees to fully embrace life as a perpetual bachelor. Which should be easy—especially when he recruits his sister's best friend for help. Surely he won't fall for her, no matter how perfect she seems…

Skylar isn't sorry to see Elliott's latest relationship go up in flames. She's had a crush on him for as long as she remembers—not that anything can ever happen there. So when Elliott asks for her help to stop him from breaking his dating embargo, she jumps at the chance. They've spent time together before and nothing has come of it. So what could possibly go wrong this time?

Sticking to his embargo would be fine if all this time with Skye wasn't making Elliott wonder if maybe the perfect girl had been in front of him all along.

This book was fantastic. The author made the characters feel real with conversations that actually flowed and “flaws” that didn’t prevent them from being loved! It was so good that I purchased the next two books in the series and can’t wait until the rest are released. Great job to the incredibly talented author, Samantha Chase. I look forward to reading more from her!

First time reading this author. Cute story, liked the characters, sex, but not descriptive, no bad language. I would read her again.

OMG I love this new series already! This is such a cute, sweet, flirty and wonderful story! I absolutely adore Elliot and Skye! They are perfect for each other even if it took some time to figure that out. Skye being his sister’s BF and partner in their business and knowing each other since they were kids didn’t really help in their case since everyone thought of her like family. Skye did not want to be his family. Not that way. She has been crushing on him forever. And wishes he would have noticed her like that. But after another failed relationship Elliot actually needs some help and time to figure things out so he asks Skye to help him. And help him she does. This book is so ahhhhmazing and so very Samantha Chase. Which is to say it is sweet, romantic, fun and a perfect love story to warm your heart. Can’t wait for the next book!

This was a awesome start to the new series. This was a really fun read!! Skylar and Elliot have their problems, mainly communication. But, once the they start to communicate things quickly turn to sparks flying. One of my favorite parts was when Elliot kept coming up with crazy activities just to spend time with Skylar. That had me laughing out loud!! Great read!!
  • Love and friendship and weddings, oh my!

Best friend’s brother/sister’s best friend is one of my very favorite tropes, so I’ve read many stories with this theme. Samantha Chase put a unique and funny twist on this classic and I loved it! I really liked the Elliott and Skylar pairing and thought they complimented each other perfectly. Their interactions are fun before they turn steamy, which is even more fun as they are both fooling themselves that this is a casual thing. Elliott and Skye come off as very sensitive, beta characters, which was a nice change, but don’t think of them as weak. Elliott’s determined to change the course of his life while Skye is hoping to spend hers with him. The friendship and working relationship between Skye, Lea and Josie is another great selling point for both book one as well as the series. Each woman brings something different to their partnership and together they form a solid bond. I love that! Great characters, unique storyline, lots of frosting and weddings...what’s not to love!
