Twelve traditional Hungarian folktales are given new life in this wonderful collection by May McNeer and Charlotte Lederer. The material which formed the basis of these tales, originally published in 1930, was painstakingly collected by Charlotte Lederer from archives and other sources. She wishes to acknowledge indebtedness to the following Hungarian authors, in whose writings some of these folktales first took definite shape; Mikszath, Yokai, Gardonyi, and Mora.
