Well-written, if a bit long. But there is a lot of good story here.

Dare, Billie, and Eddie were best friends growing up. They were very competitive and always said “the right person would win, not necessarily the best”. As they grew older, they each had “their” thing. Billie excelled at motor cross, Dare excelled at extreme sports, and Eddie branched out into film, cinematography. His life goal was to make films. So he filmed Billie’s motor cross races and Dare’s stunts. Even though they were best friends, Eddie and Dare made a pact that neither would make a move on Billie if the other was interested in her. Once one of them showed interest, the other backed off…Only, this didn’t work out so well for Dare. He waited too long to make his feelings known to Billie. Billie knew at 6yrs old that she loved Dare. Billie, Eddie, and Dare were all best friends, but there was a special bond between the two of them. But Dare went off to college and kind of lost his way, going a little wild. It wasn’t until Billie confronted Dare that he decided to pull himself together. Otherwise, he would have never become a Dark Knight or been able to help others. Dare graduated and became a therapist at Redemption Ranch, alongside his mom. The loss of Eddie nearly destroys both Dare and Billie. Billie shuts out everyone in her family and Dare. It takes six long years, lots of unreturned texts and phone calls, and skydiving to worm his way back into Billie’s life. Will Billie be able to forgive herself and let Dare in? I think Dare and Billie may just be my favorite couple! Dare’s dancing on the bar top, skydiving into Billie’s run, and his ability to connect with others enabling them to open up, makes him the ultimate perfect alpha-male. The chemistry between Billie and Dare is electric! I absolutely loved how supportive the Dark Knights are of their community. I can’t wait to read Cowboy and Birdie’s stories! I highly recommend this novel! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
  • Loving Billie and Dare!

Loving Billie and Dare! Billie and Dare have been best friends since childhood, and as the years have gone by both of them have realized they’re attracted to each other, only acting on it once, but vowing to never do it again in order to maintain their friendship. That all changes when Billie ends up getting engaged to the other friend in their group, and the day of a tragic accident, Dare tells Billie not to move forward with the marriage. Riddled with guilt, Billie pushes Dare away for years after the accident, along with going the safe route in life, which is everything opposite of what she loves to do, and finally the time comes where Billie and Dare confront their feelings and the past together, and they take a stab at a relationship together. I really loved Dare’s character and his interactions with the troubled boy he takes in at the beginning of the book, and how he also knew what Billie needed even if it wasn’t what she wanted. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
