Description

Seven years ago, Hercules Lord was everything to me—my first love, my greatest temptation, and my biggest heartbreak. One stolen night in Boston, we crossed a line that couldn’t be undone. And then? He disappeared.

Now, fate has thrown us together again. At my best friend’s engagement party, of all places. And just when I think I’ve wrapped my head around seeing him again, I find out he’s the best man. My partner for every wedding event. My forced proximity nightmare.

He’s impossibly more magnetic than I remember—bigger, bolder, and even more off-limits than before. Our families still hate each other. The past still lingers between us, unspoken. And yet, every moment we’re together, the pull between us grows stronger, rekindling something I thought I buried long ago.

I know better than to fall for him again. But tell that to my heart.

Crossing the Line, the first book of The Lord Brothers of Manhattan series of standalone books is a heart-stopping second-chance romance filled with deep emotions, undeniable chemistry, and the kind of love that defies the odds. If you crave passionate tension, unforgettable romance, and all the feels, this book is for you.

Characters are very wealthy and seemed contrived. Impossible to relate to the lifestyle described

First, the positive: there isn’t the usual trope of not telling the other what they’re thinking or feeling. But then there are the negatives: plot development is minimal; the heroine makes a big deal out of the “girl code” but then ignores it; the reader is kept in the dark about certain pertinent facts, even when coming to the resolution of the ‘problem’; there needed to be a proofreader to catch errors in both continuity and grammar. All in all, could have been a really good story, if it had been better developed — might have been a rushed first attempt that would have been better served by some polishing.

You had me until this. The largest cut diamond is in the area of 31-carats

Story started out ok then mixed a fairytale into it and wrecked it. It was so bad I couldn’t finish the final chapter. Forced marriages of cousins to preserve trust funds. Really immature writing.
