Renal failure is a life-changing event that can be prevented or delayed with proper understanding and education on behalf of the healthcare professional and the patient. 6. Utilize standards of care for the treatment and prevention of renal disease in patients with diabetes.
7. Discuss the educational needs for patients with diabetes to prevent or delay renal disease.
