When Sookie Stackhouse sees her brother Jason’s eyes start to change, she knows he’s about to turn into a were-panther for the first time. But her concern becomes cold fear when a sniper sets his deadly sights on the local changeling population, and Jason’s new panther brethren suspect he may be the shooter. I found this book to be a relaxing read. There is something soothing about the pictures evoked by Harris's writing about a mug of coffee, doing housework, taking a shower, making the bed, and dressing for work. I really felt as though I was seeing Sookie's life - not just the action scenes, but as a whole. A nice way to give my mind a break through total immersion.

  • Wasn't as good ...

This book wasn't the page turner that book four was. Also I'm not loving the fact that Sookie's style is old fashioned. I'm just assuming that's because Charlaine is older and so she has older ideas. For example, red tights, who wears tights anymore? Wasn't this written in '06? Also the idea that Sookie doesn't wash her hair every day. I know back in the day that's how it was, but not this day and age. Maybe I'm just being picky. I LOVE these stories!! I just wish Sookie's ideas/style didn't seem like they were from the 60's-70's or whatever.

Not as much action as the rest or maybe it's just not the same kind of action.
