Description

When a virus makes everyone over the age of eighteen infertile, would-be parents pay teen girls to conceive and give birth to their children, making teens the most prized members of society. Girls sport fake baby bumps and the school cafeteria stocks folic-acid-infused food.

Sixteen-year-old identical twins Melody and Harmony were separated at birth and have never met until the day Harmony shows up on Melody’s doorstep. Up to now, the twins have followed completely opposite paths. Melody has scored an enviable conception contract with a couple called the Jaydens. While they are searching for the perfect partner for Melody to bump with, she is fighting her attraction to her best friend, Zen, who is way too short for the job.

Harmony has spent her whole life in Goodside, a religious community, preparing to be a wife and mother. She believes her calling is to convince Melody that pregging for profit is a sin. But Harmony has secrets of her own that she is running from.

When Melody is finally matched with the world-famous, genetically flawless Jondoe, both girls’ lives are changed forever. A case of mistaken identity takes them on a journey neither could have ever imagined, one that makes Melody and Harmony realize they have so much more than just DNA in common.

From New York Times bestselling author Megan McCafferty comes a strikingly original look at friendship, love, and sisterhood—in a future that is eerily believable.

After picking up on the lingo used, I really enjoyed this book. However, it has no ending! The "end" of the book makes no sense and completely leaves the reader hanging. Seems like the author got writers block and just published what was written. Very disappointed with the way this boom was brought to a close.

it was so cheap. It's awful. And half the pages are blank.

I biught this book I was curious despite all the negative reviews. Next time I know to listen to the reviews. The plot, while the idea is interesting, it is very confusingly written and hard to follow. The ending wasn't an ending as much as lazy. If there is a sequel that would be because the author is trying to rip you off because the plot should have been resolved 1 book. Actually nothing was solved in this book. If this is a stand alone novel it is one of the worst I have read do to the lack of conclusion. Don't buy.

The cover of this book caught my attention, so I read about it, downloaded a sample, and found myself wanting to know what happened. The storyline is intriguing, but I'm not fully satisfied with the storytelling mode. The author attempts to create a future world with concepts that are hard to understand or relate to. If she had chosen to tell the story in a different way, where she could have explained this future world she's created, it would have read much better. That being said, the storyline was good enough to keep me reading. I finished it all in a day.

I read the summary and thought it sounded pretty good, but like the person before me said, it was poorly written. Some parts were also so corny & I laughed so hard. It was also extremely predictable.

I actually really liked this book.. Well for one I loved the characters and how it went from one thing to another. But one thing I hated was how it started. And how it ended. I personally thought that overall it was amazing.
