Description

The embattled Republic reels from the attacks of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who has marshaled the remnants of the Imperial forces and driven the Rebels back with an abominable technology recovered from the Emperor's secret fortress: clone soldiers. As Thrawn mounts his final siege, Han and Chewbacca struggle to form a coalition of smugglers for a last-ditch attack against the empire, while Leia holds the Alliance together and prepares for the birth of her Jedi twins. Overwhelmed by the ships and clones at Thrawn's command, the Republic has one last hope--sending a small force, led by Luke Skywalker, into the very stronghold that houses Thrawn's terrible cloning machines. There a final danger awaits, as the Dark Jedi C'baoth directs the battle against the Rebels and builds his strength to finish what he had already started: the destruction of Luke Skywalker.

Features a bonus section following the novel that includes a primer on the Star Wars expanded universe, and over half a dozen excerpts from some of the most popular Star Wars books of the last thirty years!

One of my all-time favorite Star Wars series comes to a thrilling conclusion that set the tone for the next two decades of Galaxy Far, Far Away action. If only what has come post-Disney could come anywhere near this, the pinnacle of Star Wars lore.

Never picked up a Star Wars book before. This trilogy has gotten me thirsting for more reads. The individual plots flow so smoothly in and out of each other. The characters, new and established, are all excellent. The pacing is perfect. The detail is perfect. The author really knows how to conjure a visual without illustration. It's such a shame that the standard for editing is so low. In 90% of the digital books I've read there have been glaring errors to spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc. These books are unfortunately no exception. It wasn't until this book, the third, that the errors actually angered me. For the price of these digital books- I have far higher expectations than the publisher presumes. I would easily rate a 5 if this were not the case. Either way, highly recommended to Star Wars fans of any kind.

A great ending to a great trilogy of books. I am glad that I started my journey into the expanded universe with this trilogy. It helped to greatly draw my interest. I definitely recommend any that is considering getting into the expanded universe to start with the thrawn trilogy. You will not be let down. My only problem now is I need to figure out which book/series to go to.

This is a decent book, and I love Star Wars in general, but this iBook version has far too many typos and errors for the eight bucks I paid for it. Do your books justice, and don't make sloppy mistakes!

Wow I didn't think it could get better but it did! The last few chapters had be on the edge of my seat and ended even better than I could have planned. It was like watching the movies all over again.
