I loved this book so much. I didn’t know what to expect, but when I opened up to the dedication, I saw “To you,” which I though was decidedly forward of the author...
But it WAS for me—everything I wanted. A plucky, likeable heroine who knew what she wanted and grew from her circumstances. The story goes through a very relatable journey through college and romance, snapshots of the early 1900s, and clever storytelling. The plot was predictable, but I still laughed and cried. I’m so glad I found this.
It’s a quick, simple, cheerful read, from Jean Webster to you.

“Daddy Long-Legs” is enticing from the first page to the last and left me wondering what adventures Judy, the protagonist, would excite herself with next. Not only was this book the absolute cutest story I have ever read, but it was filled with intense vocabulary and imagery that easily allowed me to feel as if I was Judy and experienced such experiences.
Jean Webster has definitely hooked me with her fabulous storyline and diction that reminds me much of the later books of the Betsy-Tacy series and works of the Bronte sisters.
Without a doubt, I recommend reading this book perhaps one, two, or maybe five times without stopping.

I read this book as a young teenager. I loved it and at 75 just reread it. It’s even better now, with life, loves, kids and grandchildren behind me. More meaningful and sweet.
A lifelong favorite!

I first read this book as a preteen in the 1960s. It was already 50 years old by then, but the timeless adventures of the feisty heroine captured my imagination. I re-read it almost every year (I know it so well it only takes about 2 hours to read) and enjoy it more with every reading. The story has been revived off-Broadway and will be touring the country this spring (2017). Recommended for anyone looking for a sweet, relaxing, feel-good read!

I absolutely adore this book; I've read it twice in the span of a month and a half. The characters are charming, and the novel itself is reassuring and comforting.
