Description

From the New York Times Bestselling author of The Black Prism...

Gavin Guile is dying.

He'd thought he had five years left--now he has less than one. With fifty thousand refugees, a bastard son, and an ex-fiancé who may have learned his darkest secret, Gavin has problems on every side. All magic in the world is running wild and threatens to destroy the Seven Satrapies. Worst of all, the old gods are being reborn, and their army of color wights is unstoppable. The only salvation may be the brother whose freedom and life Gavin stole sixteen years ago.

Amazing story backed by incredible lore. The world building and character building is some the best I’ve ever read.

Blinding Knife was amazing and engaging as The Black Prism. The story moves along seamlessly. One of the things is don’t care for is Kip continues to self depreciate and doubt himself.
  • Best work to date

I read the Night Angel trilogy and loved it. The writing improved over the course of the series. Brent got better with The Black Prism as well, but this is easily his best work so far. Memorable characters, insane battles and continued character building. The characters change over the course of the story some in ways you wouldn't expect. Strongly recommend this series. Can't wait to star book 3 tomorrow.

I didn't have high hopes for this book, but I bought it anyway, prepared to set it aside as soon as I was bored with it. How wrong I was! This book has some of the best action, the bet imagery, of any book I've ever read. I really loved the Night Angel Trilogy, and this series is just as good, if not better than that.
