Partly because of that fact, it makes for very enjoyable reading. The style of language is a bit more "flowery" then we are used to. The author gives you a very good sense of Lincoln's character and provides a detailed history of Lincoln in his time. After reading this biography, I got a good sense of how Lincoln's contemporaries saw him. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique perspective on Abraham Lincoln.
