  • Not quite my favorite book by one of my favorite authors

As typical of Verne's style, the characters are very likable, though for this book they are relatively one-dimensional. Also as expected from a book about a lottery ticket, it is full of suspense. If you like Verne's other books, I recommend this one too, though it does not deal as much with science fiction.

I can't wait until my son is old enough for me to read this to him! It's got a lot of the adventure, but a love story as well. It's really a lovely story, and as always with jules verne, very beautifully written.
