The notes and book mark feature has stopped working on ipad. Noticed not many reviews since 2015 are developers still supporting this iBook?

  • Very Poorly Implemented

I’ve used the print version for decades and am well familiar with its usage. I downloaded the sample to check out the veracity of the negative reviews here. I confirm this ebook is indeed very poorly implemented. I’ve seen other electronic versions that present the study notes in a separate window that tracks your current reading position. In this fashion, it mimicks the physcial book where the notes are typically on the bottom of the page being read. Using this ebook however, one must constantly switch back and forth between multiple, distinct screens, which makes things very, very cumbersome. I’m glad I was able to inspect the sample. I certainly won’t be wasting my money on this version.

I can not even access this app after downing it, but ITunes does not seem to care. I can not get a refund.

I have used the print version of this book and an earlier e-version for Windows that were very useful, but this version is almost useless. You cannot see the study notes or cross-references until you click on them and then you lose the text and returning to the text is difficult and cumbersome at best. The old Windows version provided multiple synced windows, so you could see everything at once & copying material into a word processor was easy. In its current format this is a waste of money.
  • Unusable for a beginner

Buy The Olive Tree Study Bible app from the App Store and get this through the in-app store. Otherwise, the book is unusable. I purchased this study version because I am new to reading the bible and knew the historical, contextual and character notes would be very helpful - they were not - the only reason being that the navigation is awful. Unintuitive, huge blocks of links with no description of what they are or context of the passage (only a book, chapter and passage are provided, which may not be a problem if I weren't a beginner and knew which chapter was what). I could keep going, but I won't for the sake of my thumb and your interest in this review. See my recommendation above.
