Chapter 9, Post Analysis Guidelines, will help in your quest to master the markets. "Study the past if you would define the future." As students of the market we all need to constantly study and look for ways to improve our prior performance. "Examining past trades and former stock market winners can often give clues about how to find successful trades in the future." It sounds so simple, but very few traders take the time to examine past trades. Doing a post analysis of all your trades will help you identify strengths and weaknesses. Plot your trades on the S&P500 for the year and compare your performance with the overall trend of the market. You will discover that the trend really is your friend!

I read Amy's book when first came out in January this year. I could not help my self to read it in just a few hours. Afterwards, I went back and re-read it to take notes. These notes were important to me in order to (1) keep building up my list of investing rules and (2) confirm many of my rules I already have and that I use to buy and sell stocks using the CAN SLIM System. I have been using the system for more than 10 years. This book is good among others because you find true stories of regular folks out there such as new, seasonal and even professional investors. Stories are told in a very easy manner to understand, and highlighting the facts and investing rules each person uses. Every story has a brief explanation of the method used by the person and then it has a list of 'Key Points' at the end of the subject story. Many stories are supported with true winning stock charts that have valuable comments in order to learn from past stock actions. This is what I advice: If you make a list of all key points presented in the book then you have an invaluable list of facts/rules that can help you to improve your investing system and gain that strength to control your emotions when you are at the bat, and get a curved ball. For all of you that invest in stocks with sound rules and real facts, this is a must read book.
