Edward McKendree Bounds (1835-1913), a native of Missouri, was a clergyman of the Methodist Episcopal Church South. Though he was popular across the South and was minister for a long time, only a few of his works were published. But many of his eleven books focused on prayer, including The Possibilities of Prayer.
