Description

We all fear that the depression will never lift, the disappointment will never stop, the pain will never leave. Here in the pits, surrounded by steep walls, we wonder if our gray skies will ever brighten. Though these unprecedented and challenging times may bring a load of uncertainty and fear that feels too heavy to bear, God gives us this promise: You'll Get Through This.

In You'll Get Through This, pastor and New York Times bestselling author Max Lucado traces the story of Joseph as told in the book of Genesis. The Bible tells us that Joseph was tossed into a pit by his brothers, sold into slavery, wrongfully imprisoned, forgotten and dismissed. Yet Joseph's story is proof that we can flourish even in this broken world. On his darkest days, Joseph may have thought that the sun would never shine again, but God ultimately used these hardships for a greater purpose.

Whether you find yourself in the pit of financial downturn, job loss, health crisis, or relationship stresses, God has a plan and a path forward designed just for you. Max reminds readers God doesn't promise that getting through trials will be quick or painless, but he does use our mess for good.

In this book, Max will help you:
Find comfort in the knowledge that you are God's child and God cares deeply for youRemember that God is near you and has never left youLook for hope in each hardship that you faceLean on your loving community in challenging timesTake courage that God will restore even the most painful circumstances and use them for good
Each copy of You'll Get Through This includes thoughtful questions for reflection designed to give you a chance to dive deeper into the hard yet hopeful story of Joseph's perseverance.

With the compassion of a pastor, the heart of a storyteller, and the joy of one who has seen what God can do, Max explores the story of Joseph and the truth of Genesis 50:20: what Satan intends for evil, God redeems for good.

God led me to this book in a dream! I’ve been struggling with extreme health problems that’s caused me to live in utter fear of death constantly. Im only 31. This has shown me God can use Satans evil and turn it around for good. I won’t be in the pit forever. God has a plan for me I just have to be patient like Joseph and wait to find out what it is! Doesn’t make it easier but it makes it easier for me to understand what’s been happening to me. Trials. We all go through them.

I was going through a really tough time in my life and in my marriage. My job of 15 years said "good-bye". And I found myself in a really dark place. Reading this book, amongst others, truly helped me see that I CAN get through this. It's been a little while since I read it, but I'm feeling like I should read it again, just because it is so awesome of a story! Thanks Max!

God has used this book to emotionally and psychologically heal me, and I highly recommend it for every person in the world to read. You don't have to be going through a crisis to read it. It'll help prevent you from going through a crisis. God definitely guided Max during the writing of this. I was suffering terribly and looking for any help I could find, so I went to the Christian bookstore and God led me to this book. God knew what was best for me and now I share the good news. What I love most is that the foundation of the whole book is from events in the Bible. Max uses God's story to help us (i.e. Max let's God heal us).

We've all been through it...or will...Satan and his demons pounce, growl and set fire to what we have built, saved, or birthed. We see it clearly as evil winning over goodness. We are fed the lies...over and over again...God isn't here....God doesn't care...it's God's will that you be defeated...Life isn't worth living... Many of us have learned the Bible stories from early childhood. Jonah in the whale; David vs Goliath; Paul in shackles; Noah in the flood; Jesus, the sinless one, feeling forsaken as He hung dying. Why did God put these illustrations in the Bible? Max Lucado adds new perspective. One the world needs to know... I've got at least 10 people who desperately need to read the first sample...and then in September...the whole book. Please note: this review is based on the sample provided by the publisher and I tunes. The full book will be released in September.
