Darling addition to the series. Ruby is matchmaking again. Will pasts keep getting in the way of a future together? Wonderful characters as both have a tortured past, but find love with each other. Great storyline, really enjoyed a strong female lead, who takes charge of her life’s goals, but also realizes life goals may change, but that does not make her weak, but established in her own right, in knowing, what she truly wants. Mack, is closed off, but when he gives it’s his all. I am voluntarily leaving a review for this book that I received free.

This was just as good as the other one, I plan to go back and read January through March, but this one was just as good as the April one. The story was really well written and it played out great! The characters were perfect for each other and the ending was so well thought out! I can’t wait to read the others. Good work!. This was a wonderful, quick book that I enjoyed! This is part of an interconnected series but can be read as a standalone. This book focuses on Mack and Lily. Mack is a former firefighter with some serious scars - inside and out. He is a loner on the mountain and rarely talks to people because of his scars. When he meets Lily, he wants to get to know her better. Lily likes the idea of getting to know Mack better but recognizes that it will be a process. This book was a fantastic read. All of the characters were likable and interesting. I loved how the characters all worked together; it really showed a sense of community. Former firefighter Mack took refuge on Mustang Mountain after a devastating fire left him with a serious case of self blame and a scarred body. Not liking to be gawked at or pitied over his scars, he’s isolated himself for the last three years from most everyone except his MC brothers. Now he spends his days training sled dogs. He’s given up any notions of romance and locked his heart away long ago. Because the costume covers his scars, he agrees to play the Easter Bunny at the MC sponsored egg hunt where he meets and hits it off with the town caterer Lily. But he believes she would never go for him if she could see what he really looked like. After all, he’s been there and done that before with his ex-fiancée who left after he was injured. Lily is focused on expanding her catering business and doesn’t really have much time for a relationship, but she can’t seem to forget about her instant connection with Mack. So the mayor’s meddling wife, Ruby, decides it’s time to play matchmaker with the pair using the pretense of a charity event to highlight mushing in the area while raising funds for the women’s shelter. And it works! Lily proves that she sees beyond his scars, physical and emotional. And Mack opens up to her, believing for the first time in years that he can have it all. It’s perfect until Lily’s loan to expand her business gets approved, which means she will be moving hours away. Mack is crushed and feels like she led him on. To protect himself from further hurt, he decides to end things. But a couple of months later, they are both miserable without each other. Good thing they both decide it’s time to fix that. The rest of the guys on Mustang Mountain better look out because matchmaking Ruby is really gonna have the big head now!!!
