Incredible Conclusion to Duet Love Story

I absolutely loved The Truth About Us by Claudia Burgoa; the second book in her Impossibly Possible Duet, a Decker Family Novel, it is an incredible conclusion to the cliffhanger love at first sight love story. Claudia Burgoa continues to provide readers with incredible love stories filled with amazing characters. She continues to prove that she is an amazing storyteller. I love all the characters in The Truth About Us, they feel like family! The Truth About Us filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, it was impossible to put it down, and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I love how Claudia Burgoa incorporated the title of the book and the picture on the cover into the love story. The Truth About Us is the conclusion of the cliffhanger love story between Ameline “Ame” Lewis, a lawyer and Gabriel “Gabe” Decker, a renown oncologist. The Truth About Us takes place ten years after The Lies About Forever. Gabe’s mother, Pria, asks him to head to the airport to pick up his sister, Lyric, who is arriving on a red eye from New York. Gabe purchased a ticket so that he could meet Lyric at her gate instead of baggage claim. To his surprise Lyric is late getting off her flight only to be accompanied by Ameline. Ameline informs him that she got a message from her sister Isadora that she needs Ameline’s help. The following morning, Isadora’s neighbor calls Ameline notifying her that Isadora was taken to the hospital and that someone needs to pick up her children before someone calls child protective services. Ameline learns that she has a four-year-old niece, Cora, and a three-week-old nephew, Caleb. Once Ameline and Gabe arrive at the hospital they learn that Isadora had a stroke and is currently in a medically induced coma. Ameline and Gabe work together to get guardianship over Cora and Caleb. It is helpful that Ameline and Gabe are still married. I love how Ameline revealed that to Lyric, who then informs the rest of her siblings. I love that Ameline is constantly threatening Gabe with divorce papers, which she has sent to him in the past. It was heartbreaking Cora horded food because of her food insecurities and Caleb was going through withdrawal, but I love what Ameline and Gabe do to help them. I love the text stream between Ameline and Gabe, it is one of my favorite parts of the book. As Ameline and Gabe spend time together things begin to change between them. I love the chemistry between Ameline and Gabe, and the conversations between them flow so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, with Gabe constantly flirting and dirty talking with Ameline. Once Isadora regains consciousness, it is determined that she will enter rehab and Ameline will take care of Cora and Caleb. I love everything that is revealed about what happened between Ameline and Gabe following the cliffhanger ending. Gabe informs Ameline that she died on the operating table and that the baby that Ameline miscarried was a girl, that Ameline named Alisson. Gabe had distanced himself from Ameline following these events because Archer went missing and the issues with Seth. I love that Ameline reconciles with Cedric, her father, Richard, and Gabe’s mother, Pria. Ameline’s meetings with Richard were heartbreaking, I especially love the letter that he left for her. I love all the changes that Ameline and Gabe are willing to make in their lives to have a life with one another. I love the ending of their love story and the surprise that is revealed. My favorite part is the epilogue, I love how it beautifully wraps up their love story. I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. The Truth About Us is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments and all those things that I have come to love and expect in Claudia Burgoa love story, and she did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. I love the characters and the family dynamic in The Truth About Us, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between Decker siblings, especially their teasing that made me laugh. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed The Truth About Us, an incredible conclusion to the cliffhanger ending. Highly recommend this incredible love story. Received an advanced copy from the author.
So good!

As only Claudia Burgoa can with her duets, she breaks your heart in the first one but puts it back together in the second book of the duet. This was no exception and both books were excellent.

The Truth About Us is the second book in the Impossibly Possible Duet by Claudia Burgoa. This book picks up several years after the last book ended. Gabe Decker was a workaholic Oncologist who was mourning the loss of Ameline. He had never shared anything about his feelings for Ameline, and his family was pressuring him to change his specialty and begin dating. When his mother asked him to pick his sister up at the airport he was shocked to find that Ameline was on the same flight. Gabe seized the opportunity to offer Ameline support with her visit to see her estranged sister and hoped to win her back. He basically badgered her into accepting his assistance in the beginning. This is a romance novel, so a happy ending is to be expected, but I don’t want to go into any further detail and spoil the story. I really enjoyed this book. Gabe was as steadfast, loving, and dedicated to Ameline in this book as he had been in the first. He made himself indispensable to her and helped with a very complicated family situation. Ameline was guarded, but neither had ever stopped loving the other and their reconciliation was inevitable. They were older and more mature, better equipped to deal with the curveballs life had sent them. This book definitely put me back together after the terrible ending to the first half of the duet, when everything seemed hopeless. The author does an excellent job of breaking her characters down and then reassembling them as better versions of themselves. Second time around, Ameline was welcomed into the heart of the Decker family, no longer a secret. I would love to be a member of that family! Not only is it a large, loving family, but they have money that helps to overcome a lot of obstacles that would be very difficult for someone like me, or Ameline. I definitely recommend this book/duet for readers who enjoy emotional, anyxty contemporary romance novels. I would like to thank Wildfire Marketing Solutions and Claudia Burgoa for this ARC. I am voluntarily submitting this honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Ameline and Gabe’s story does not continue right where book one dives off its cliff…there’s a substantial time jump. Gabe has done a lot with himself, but is miserable. Ameline’s time is a little bit sparse on details, and there’s one particular connection that isn’t explained as much as I would have liked.
Watching them try to come back from their past was great, and you have to cheer for them, considering the trauma they’ve been through. I appreciate the angst and drama both families bring to the table, but yikes! It was a lot.
The story was a bit uneven in places, slow and repetitive then jumping and speeding up when I needed more. Still, it was a good duet with interesting characters, both villains and, while not angels, the rest, lol. 4 stars

Okay so book one left me shredded. I couldn’t wait to read this book. I needed to know if Gabe found what his heart had needed to heal. I needed to know if Ame got the family she desperately wanted in Gabe. And I got all the answers and so, so much more. I love how Claudia always give us more of the family. She ties the book together so perfectly that you can’t help but crave her writing, crave her books. This book gives us exactly that and hopefully a glimpse into the next book she will give us. Another Decker family members love story. Gabe and Ame are what Epic love are defined as. A love that would never die. A love that would out live space and time and sickness. Epic as always a book by Claudia Burgoa!

What a conclusion to this duet. Claudia strings our emotions along in the prologue and then BAM! Lol 10 years have passed and Gabe…sweet Gabe..has become a workaholic to help him forget…or move on…or find his new normal. It’s not working out the best and his family is concerned. He think they are coming town for an intervention…it turns out to be so much more as many truths from the past come to light. I went through so many emotions reading this story..heartbreak, sadness, joy and love. I binge read the book because I had to know what happened. Claudia is good about putting us back together…we get an HEA…just in a different way. I don’t want to give the story away so I will keep my review short. This is a must read (after the first book, of course). This is my favorite duet from Claudia. Xoxo

Sometimes life has a way of of completely turning around and this romance does exactly that! The grief, the sorrow, the impossible situation left us with such heartbreak but then the truth begins to come out when everything seems like it just won’t work and then love steps in and helps to soothe, encourage and hope for the soul mate and their love. What a journey for Ameline and Gabe. Be sure to grab the tissues!♥️
