I enjoyed this book. I have to live on a limited budget and at 85 1/2 I use KU on one iPad and free Apple on the others. My AncestryDNA tells me I have blood line all the way to William the Conqueror so it I had known this a few years ago i could have wrote a book 😊

He’s terrible at reading women… I liked Persephone, a young widow. She’s trying to avoid being married off to a duke because her sister was compromised by a rogue. Acton Loxley is a friend and fellow rogue of the guy who ruined her sister. He’s a clueless duke who thought (wrongly) that Persephone would welcome his unwanted advances when she was traveling alone. He visits the same brothel as all his friends (way to share the STI and STDs). Acton just feels very predatory. But you know Persephone just has to end up with him. She could definitely do better.
  • An Almost Reformed Rogue

To minimalize the scandal caused when her sister is caught embracing a rogue who then rejects her, the Barclay parents quickly arrange a meeting between the Duke of Wellsbourne and Persephone. The object? Marriage. Believing the duke is just another rogue like the one who ruined her sister, she runs away before they reach his estate. Before she gets very far, she runs into her prospective husband. When he reaches home and discovers that the “widow” he met on the road is his would-be intended, he goes after her. This is a lively and enjoyable start to the Rogue Rules series. There is a bit of adventure, but this is a character-driven story. The characters, with the exception of Persey and Pandora’s parents, are charming and likable. Persey and Acton are falling in love, but Acton almost ruins it. He is a reforming rogue, but he can’t quite get past flirting. How will get past this? I love the way the ladies devised their Rogue Rules. Persey knew the rules, and she found which ones to break to find her happy ending with Acton. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Opposites attract. Persey refuses to fall for a rogue! Until she meets Acton the Duke. Fun story about two people who end up helping each other and falling in love.

Loved reading the engaging and amazing romance story. When Persephone's parents inform her that she is to wed the Duke of Wellsbourne, Persephone leaves home to avoid marriage, ends up meeting the Duke who flirts outrageously with her, so she pretends to be a widow. When Acton, the Duke of Wellsbourne goes to meet Persephone, he finds out she was woman pretending to be a widow and feels it is his duty to protect Persephone from harm. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting love story. Can wait to read the next story in the series by the phenomenal author, Darcy Burke!
