Description

In this sexy modern-day fairytale from the New York Times bestselling author of Seven Days in June, a free-spirited florist and an enigmatic musician share a soul mate connection told through the history, art, and the magic of Harlem.

The daughter of a powerful Atlanta dynasty, Ricki Wilde is the opposite of her famous socialite sisters. In her bones, Ricki knows that somewhere, a different, more exciting life awaits her. When she moves into a Harlem brownstone, she leaves behind her family, wealth, and chaotic romantic decisions to realize her dream of opening a flower shop. One evening Ricki encounters a handsome, deeply mysterious stranger who knocks her world off balance in the most unexpected way.

Set against the backdrop of modern Harlem and Renaissance glamour, A Love Song for Ricki Wilde is a swoon-worthy love story of two passionate artists drawn to the magic, romance, and opportunity of New York, and whose lives are uniquely and irreversibly linked.

I absolutely adored this book! I haven’t been able to put it down since I picked it up. Entangling all the aspects that black love should be *chef’s kiss*. Intertwining the Harlem Renaissance with today… LOVED! Ezra and Ricki’s love and passion had me swooning, and the love that Ms. Della and Tuesday had for Ricki really made me appreciate my own personal village 🧡

I am a Tia Williams fan but I would pick The Perfect Find over Seven Days in June, but Ricki’s story is a cute story. Our little introverted, family odd ball, Ricki, just plopped down in Harlem and started a flower business. NY is truly a magical city, and she is drawn to her soulmate, Ezra. We are introduced to a double timeline: in the present we have a mysterious handsome benefactor who apparently has no interest in communicating with Ricki. In the past we have a new northerner looking to make it big on the jazz scene in Harlem. These two are obviously the same person. Which brings in the omnipresent magic mixed with danger that haunts the characters. The story reminds me of Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris. This story has a curse, a death sentence, a network of life coaches, a modern day Robin Hood, a human sacrifice, and three mean sisters an this is your quintessential Harlem leap year fairy tale, again a cute read!

I loved this book, such a curious, cheeky and lush read. Just enough romance, just enough mysticism, fantasy and all the good things in between.
