Glamour: Best Books for Book Clubs

Soledad Barnes has her life all planned out. Because, of course, she does. She plans everything. She designs everything. She fixes everything. She’s a domestic goddess who's never met a party she couldn't host or a charge she couldn't lead. The one with all the answers and the perfect vinaigrette for that summer salad. But none of her varied talents can save her when catastrophe strikes, and the life she built with the man who was supposed to be her forever, goes poof in a cloud of betrayal and disillusion.

But there is no time to pout or sulk, or even grieve the life she lost. She's too busy keeping a roof over her daughters' heads and food on the table. And in the process of saving them all, Soledad rediscovers herself. From the ashes of a life burned to the ground, something bold and new can rise.

But then an unlikely man enters the picture—the forbidden one, the one she shouldn't want but can't seem to resist. She's lost it all before and refuses to repeat her mistakes. Can she trust him? Can she trust herself?

After all she's lost . . .and found . . .can she be brave enough to make room for what could be?

For fans of Tia Williams and Colleen Hoover comes a deeply moving and personal novel about sacrifice, self-reliance, and finding true happiness from “one of the finest romance writers of our age.” ―Entertainment Weekly

"A gorgeously grown-up romance and a story about self-love and reinvention...a great novel for readers who appreciate multilayered romantic fiction with elements of domestic drama, scandal, and inspiration." ―NPR

This book is absolutely wonderful. While i do find it to be a little overly wordy, it was such a sweet story. and very relatable. i finished it in less than 48 hours. Soledad is a sweetheart, and judah is dreamy and perfect. almost too perfect. do men like him exist? (black ones? cause, you know… lol) i so enjoy the love and passion that they share. it reminds of that between my boyfriend and me. and the complexities of dating with children, but the underlying message is to always do what makes you happy. especially after you’ve sacrificed so much for others. i hope we all learn this lesson, to love ourselves and others. even if it’s scary.

I did enjoy the book. Wasn’t sure about this as much as I loved “before I let go”. But Soledad pulled me in. Self love is needed for both men and women. Finding love with the right person is always the best ending.

This book has been all over Tik Tok the last few months so I figured id give it a try. From beginning to end I was entertained. I liked how the author incorporated real life challenges and way of life for Aaron and Adam. Also as an epileptic it was definitely relatable and heartfelt reading Aaron’s battle with seizures. This was well written and enjoyable.

This Could Be Us ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a beautiful book. I really do love Kennedy Ryan and her writing style! I dare say that I actually liked this book a tad bit more than Before I Let Go. 🫣 Listen, KR does a great job at scenic writing. Her writing style truly makes you feel like you are a fly on the wall. From the jump, I was tied to the book. I will say that this book isn’t very plot driven but more so character driven which I enjoy. The book also had a very personal touch to it. I loved how we got to see how much Soledad grew overtime and how she learned how to truly love herself and work through her self-worth. I would strongly recommend this book to anybody who is navigating a tough romantic relationship, somebody who has been heart broken, or somebody who wants to move on but is scared to put themselves out there. This book has so many gems! It’s really just beautiful. Also, Hendrix is definitely my favorite characters in the story line. She reminds me of me! So I’m geeked up that she’s going to get her own book! Well done Kennedy Ryan. You did it again. 👏🏾
