In 1544 appeared Calvin’s Antidote to the 1542 articles of faith of the Theological Faculty of Paris. Alongside a refutation of the articles he also gives, in a satirical way, a defense of those articles. In short, all the battle points of his days pass in revue. In addition to an introduction, this new and scholarly edition of the Latin text of Calvin, and its contemporary French translation contains also a learned annotation. This attempts to place the book in the context of Calvin’s time and all his works.
