Description

A rogue nuclear Russian submarine is steaming toward the East Coast of the United States. For President Jack Ryan, memories of past events may seem stunningly vivid, but the dangers are terrifyingly real in the latest entry in this #1 New York Times bestselling series.

US intelligence is reporting turmoil in the Russian navy. Their deadliest submarine, the Belgorod, has unexpectedly launched, and taken along with it a long list of questions. Who authorized the departure? What mission is it on? And, most disturbing of all, what weapons do the giant doors on the sub’s bow hide?

It's been four decades since a similar incident with the Soviet sub, Red October, ended happily, thanks to a young CIA analyst named Jack Ryan.

Now, President Jack Ryan finds himself with fleets of ships, squadrons of jets, and teams of SEALs at his command, but what he doesn’t have is insight into the plans of the Belgorod’s commander. It falls to a younger generation of Ryans to do the dangerous work that will reveal that information.

But there’s always a price to be paid. When the final moments tick away, will Jack Ryan have to choose between the safety of his country and the safety of his child?

Thus truly sets the stage for the new generation of CUA analyst- captured your imagination and it’s a story worthy of a film in the making. I loved the dramatic espionage and suspenseful ending Martin

Enjoyed this story and how it tied back to the very first Jack Ryan adventure. One of the better entries in the series and brings us a new Ryan child to add to the series.

I really enjoyed this novel. It pays an appropriate respect to the Hunt for Red October without being a copy or “borrowing” story elements. Solid character work and an appropriate amount of tension it feels at home in the Clancy universe. My only critique is the pop culture references take me out of the novel a bit and feel a bit foreign in a Clancy book

Exceptionally well done! On the opening pages to the very end I was gripped, intrigued, and entertained in the same spirit, that the master, Tom Clancy, used to pull off with every novel. Andrews and Wilson have shown that they were an excellent choice to pick up this amazing series. Their love of all things, Navy, and all things Tom Clancy just drips through the pages. They certainly did the research and certainly got themselves into the mind of the master. Their incredible writing abilities, carried the day. I am very much looking forward to their next Clancy novel! Well done!

Firing my opening salvo, another excellent read by Tom Clancy . A continuation of The Hunt For The Red October. A Russian Dimitri Gorov plans to deliver details of the advanced Soviet submarine Red October to the Americans but the submarines Captain Marko Ramius has defected and delivered the boat. Gordon dies and years later his son Konstantinos captains the Belford Russias most advanced submarine. He plans on penetrating American defenses and blow up the American fleet with a nuclear torpedo. What ensues is a fabulous tale of cat and mouse by the Russian President and the Americans to destroy the submarine. An excellent read!!! My highest recommendation!!

I’ve been a Tom Clancy fan since I first area Red October so I’m going to get new releases, but… It really seemed that the author took the structure of Red October and built this book. Too many similarities for my taste. I did like that we are seeing more of the Ryan kids than just Jack Jr. all in all, it was just ok.

These guys nailed it. Everything works and ties together perfectly. Clancy would approve whole heartedly, I think.
