If this book was a drinking game, I would be out like a light. I lost count of how many times the lead character was described as “clinching her fist”. I mean, seriously, it became annoying. There were many other repetitive actions and words, but I can’t get that one out of my head. I won’t be reading anymore in this series.
  • Couldn’t get past chapter 3

Usually, the start brings you in, enveloping the reader in the story. Nope, not this one. I’m sorry, but the FBI has to go to a former gymnast (athletics) who studies psychology because no one else could possibly possess those qualities? Nope. Plus, it seemed like what the writer showed as a time lapse of minutes was actually 10% of the book. This one seems to take an excruciating long time to move the actual story forward. The book is not for me (though, it may be good to others).

Very repetitious. Book would be 10 pages long without characters saying same things over and over. Writing was pedantic.
  • Disappointing

Repetitive descriptions along with missing scene setups.

I couldn’t get past the first few chapters before I became irritated with the flickering lights and the overuse of the word cacophony. Who writes these books really? I’ve been binge reading books the way other people binge streaming shows (over 80 this year so far). I didn’t realize there are book mills, similar to puppy mills, but apparently there are. Glad they’re free. Oh well, on to the next…
